How to Register a Domain Name?
Web Hosting is basically a service that enables people and organizations to post a site or online web page on the Internet for other users to visit. A web hosting service company, or web hosting provider, is an organization which offers the required technologies and infrastructure required for the site or webpage to be accessed over the Internet. This facility also lets people who do not have their own computers to maintain access to the Internet and make use of the web hosting services offered by these companies. These companies usually offer domain registration services as well.
The domain name is also provided by the hosting company and can be registered with an email address. The domain name is simply a part of the address given and it consists of alphabets and numbers. When you are able to buy a domain name, you can then use this address to point to your site files. The domain name you have purchased represents the IP address of the site and it is up to the site files to make sure that the IP address has always remained visible to the user. The domain name will stay this way until you remove it or cancel your hosting plan with the hosting provider.
Once you have bought your domain name from the hosting company, you can then enter it on the domain name checker page of your web hosting provider's website. This is done by clicking on 'Add a domain name' button and following the instructions provided. You will be required to fill out all the required information requested on the page such as name, address, email address, contact details etc and then you will be asked to confirm the domain name you have entered. The domain name checker page may ask you to confirm your IP address as per the requirement of the hosting provider. If all the details required by the hosting provider are met, you will be then able to log into your hosting account to check your site files against your IP address and renew your hosting plan.
